With the divine blessings through His Holiness Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamigalavaru, President JSSMVP, a TEQIP-3 initiative one week Faculty Development Program on “Recent Trends on Smart Materials and their Applications” was inaugurated on 13th November 2018 at CMS, JSS STU, Mysuru by Dr. Dada J Herle, Regional Solutions lab Manager – South Asia Vehicle refinishes, Akzo Nobel India Ltd., Bengaluru.
The FDP is organized by Dr. Siddaramaiah, Head, department of Polymer Science and Technology in association with Shri. Mahadevaprasad, department of Physics. In this program, Dr. M. J. Yanjarappa from Akzo Nobel India Ltd., Bengaluru was Guest of Honor and Dr. T. N. Nagabhushan, Principal SJCE and Dean Academics JSS S&T University, Mysuru was president.
In this one week faculty development program, the resource persons are the experts from Akzonobel, HASETRI, IISc, SABIC, MYPOL, Toyoda Gosei, NAL, DFRL, H&V, CFTRI, Technical University Munich- Germany and others. They will be delivering their expertise on smart materials, to name a few- smart textiles, smart materials for battery technology, aerospace applications, tyre of smart vehicles, electro spinning etc; and it is been participated by research scholars, teachers and students of various departments in and out of the institution.
